In this lecture:

  • Dr. Khan defines Sharia and Fiqh.
  • Delineates the technical difference between these two.
  • Stresses the need for revisiting and revising Usul-ul-Fiqh. He believes that Muslims today are in a better position to do that. The reason behind this argument according to Dr. Khan is that because law has evolved over time therefore we have a better understanding of jurisprudence and hermeneutics.
